Petite Fashion Challenge #4 : Holiday Party

The challenge:
Create a holiday party look using festive colours and/or holiday pieces without looking like a greeting card.  This could be your opportunity to dust off that reindeer sweater you might have collecting dust in the back of your closet and turn it into something chic…hmmm?

This month’s challenge is hosted by the lovely Curls And Pearls.

I don’t think I know anyone who owns as many useless cocktail dresses as I do and you’d think this challenge would be a cakewalk for me…sure, I can (sort of) incorporate vibrant and rich colors into my outfits but when it comes to a cohesively jovial look…I am beat.

Here I am, at 7:47 p.m. EST, hastily putting together the post…I guess this is the best that I can do, at least my background is festive! 🙂

I decided to build my outfit around a gold dress because I wore yellow to work this morning and decided to break out this dress that I have NEVER worn. I am putting it to good use at last.

Shoes: Franco Sarto Napoli Pumps
Coat: Nordstrom Junior Department (old)
Dress: Untagged, from a Taiwanese boutique
Bracelet: TJMaxx (similar here and here)

I have to say though, I can’t wait to see what everyone else has come up with. I caught a glimpse of Stylepint’s outfit and it is so elegant and beautiful. That is one outfit you wouldn’t want to miss.

p.s. Don’t forget to enter my giveaway, which ends 12/6

Here is a picture of my work outfit today (dress kept riding up and was really short so I kept a long jacket on for most of the work day when I was standing) and also the dress worn above without the jacket.
